CIC hearing aids - practically invisible but excellent performance

In the past, you didn’t have much of a selection for hearing aids.  The style most often worn was the BTE or behind the ear models.  These are large and fairly unattractive and very obvious.  One of the smallest hearing aids on the market is the CIC hearing aid or completely in the canal style. CIC hearing aids are practically invisible as they are designed to fit in the ear.

A CIC hearing aid actually sits deep inside the ear canal and is the model that most closely resembles natural hearing.  These are available in both programmable analog or digital hearing aids.  Either type is excellent for people who have ear canals large enough to fit a CIC device and for those with mild to moderate hearing loss.

Because CIC hearing aids are so small, they are not recommended for children.  Most children wear behind the ear styles because they are still growing and this style is more robust.  CIC devices are more expensive than other styles and are not that good for people with severe hearing loss.  We recommend you speak with your audiologist to see if they would work well for you.
